So I finally began on part 2 of my island in Unity, it was a little complicated to get the rain weather to work for my scenery but I finally figured out how to make it rain! I’m so happy with the outcome only problem that I currently is that I can’t figure out how to make it rain all across my island without it looking like rain from Minecraft. I was able to get the rain sound to work along with some slight wind, the music and sound effects work well with one another, my vision is really coming to life in Unity.
I started with making the mountains/ cliffs to know how far of a distance the player needs to walk across and how long will it take them to reach their destination. I really like how the terrain has turned out, the more I work on it; the more details I will add, and overall the results are coming along pretty well.
My biggest concern that I have with my island; it feels too big for the song that I’ve chosen, I fear that my song might finish before the player can reach the end location. I know I can correct the problem by making the island smaller so the players wouldn’t have to walk far or I can close off certain spots of the island so the player wouldn’t wander off too much, either way the problem can be fixed in due time.
