Game Overview

 

In a galaxy far away past the Milky Way, planets are trying to regain peace on their planet as the galaxy gods’ transformer have transformed all planets into small marbles and forced them to compete in a marble race. The winning marble will reclaim their own planet and become whole once again. Players can choose between 3 different marbles as you roll, jump, dodge, and activate super power ups along the competition.  Who will win? Who will lose? There can only be one winner, so race your heart out and become the ultimate super marble planet!

Super Marble Rollout is an exciting competitive racing game. Two players will control a marble character of their choice that will help them win the race through various retro space themed race courses. The marbles can speed up by constantly jumping and dodging obstacles including their opponent. Players will come across different obstacles/ enemies that can get in their way and potentially caused them their demise or victory. On each level, the player’s ultimate goal is to reach the finish line first before their opponent, all while avoiding any hazards that come their way. The players will use a combination skills of strategical thinking for when would be the best time to use their power ups, and driving/ steering to help them maneuver any form of danger that can caused them to lose.

Players also have the opportunity to play between two extra game modes as they'd like, "Super Sumo Rollout" and "Marble Maze". Super Sumo Rollout is another competitive game where two players attempt to push one player off the "sumo arena" in order to win. Marble Maze is a co-op mini game where two players must work together in order to escape the giant maze, opening doors and finding a way out as team before the timer runs out.

Tasks / Responsibility:

  • Made the entire galaxy aesthetics to the game’s theme and overall look to the game.

  • Created the UI “controls” display (artwork) for players to view their controls while playing the game.

  • Wrote and created all of the menu artwork: title page, “How to Play, “Objectives”, and “Controls” image.

  • Modeled, UV,  and textured models inside of levels:  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, sumo level 1, sumo level 2, and sumo level 3. Along with these levels, I also created the level screenshot images for the “Level Select” section (racing and sumo). (Not including spaceships)

  • Programmed the marble speedometer (rpm meter) and the sprite image. This UI feature helps players understand how fast they’re racing.

  • Created the three-character skin designs for players to choose from: Pavo, Krux, and Ursa.

  • Arranged the level layouts, creating mock ups and playtesting each level that I made.

  • Made the "trails" particle that extends out when the players move their marble.
