1. What is your most important take away from the events phase? Be specific, give examples and explain why you feel this way.
Towards the end of my island build; I felt really great figuring out how a particle systems work and then tweaking them to function with all of my events that I’ve created in different parts of my landmarks/ island. I learned how to toggle triggers and then from there I was to have all kinds of effects happen on my island. My favorite events that I’ve created from this experience were my beginning explosion on the bridge, the flares/ dust storm forest, and the final ending landmark on top of the mountain. Since I’ve learned how to toggle a trigger; I was able to time certain particle systems to work with my song’s beat which gave my island emotion (a mood). I loved how my ending turned out because it gives the player a sense that the island journey is coming to an end and a time for celebration (because I finished my journey of making the island).

2. What were the most and least enjoyable parts of this phase? Be specific, give examples and explain why you feel this way.
The parts of the island that were my least favorite things to make were scaling and making ramps/ sculpting the mountains. On my beginning mountain I had such a hard time creating a ramp for the player to walk down on (I think at this point I wanted to give up on life, just kidding). I spent too much time on trying to create a ramp that I even started falling behind on my whole island build, so I had to move on and hopefully my special events would make up for my very terrible ramp. Since both my starting/ ending mountains have ramps; it was a bit difficult to try and sculpt my whole mountains without getting some form of distortion/ hard angles, overall I believe it looked pretty decent enough to play on the mountains which made me feel more at ease. I honestly felt proud of a lot items that I was able to fit in this island but not the ramps because of how steep they turned out, the ramps were also the least enjoyable parts of the island. The results to my island were really cool in my eyes and I’m happy with my final product.

Update on Mustachio Levels: The levels are finished and will be playtested this week on game fair day (which I will be there a little bit later due to me volunteering for IndieCade).
