I woke up pretty early today (7:33 a.m.) to get ready and take off to do my first shift at IndieCade in Culver City. My first shift was from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., there wasn’t much to do in the beginning since all of our equipment was not ready for our tent/ booth, so for a good 2 hours I was just working as security (I guess that’s what the people in charge made me), and then towards the end I was setting up computers/ monitors but that was about it (it was pretty empty on day 1). It was a hectic day; from working at IndieCade to heading down to school for Game Fair while trying to beat L.A traffic was a bit difficult. Game Fair looked like a success when I arrived; there were many students in the game lab and everyone seem to be having fun, I’ve noticed people were playing my levels and I had a blast watching them struggle or enjoying my level that I’ve made. I think it would have been cool if was there to set up in the morning, that way I could have had more people to try out my island, overall Game Fair was fun even if everyone didn’t get a chance to play every Mustachio level it was still a fun day.
